 Invisalign Invisible Braces

Invisalign® is an effective way to straighten your teeth and an alternative to conventional metal braces- whether teen or adult.

Invisalign uses clear, removable aligners that are custom made for your teeth. This allows you to avoid the occasional mouth abrasions that can come from the wire and metal of conventional braces.

Invisalign is also known for its convenience, because most patients spend less time in the office getting adjustments.

The clear plastic aligners are removed before you eat or drink, so you can enjoy meals without getting food trapped in your teeth (or braces), and you're not limited in the foods you can eat.

Teeth and gums will also be healthier, because the aligners are removed, allowing you to floss and brush more easily and thoroughly.

Invisalign's 3-D computer imaging technology is used to design a complete treatment plan, from the initial teeth positioning to final desired positions. You will be able to preview the estimated final positions of your teeth before treatment.

Using this imaging information, Dr. Sunstein will create aligners that are custom fit to your teeth. The aligners will move your teeth incrementally. Each clear plasitic, nearly invisible, aligner is worn for about 2 weeks, and office visits are usually about once every 6 weeks to keep an eye on progress.

Smile healthy

A straight, well-aligned smile not only looks great, but often means that smile is a healthy one, as well. There are numerous benefits to a properly aligned smile.

Healthier gums

When teeth are too widely spaced or crowded together, swollen gums and redness can be present, which may be indicators of periodontal disease.

Clinical studies have shown that properly aligned teeth help the gums fit more tightly around the teeth, which in turn can lead to better periodontal health.

Invisalign's greatest advantage is its ability to properly align teeth, which means your gum health may improve after treatment.

Unlike with traditional braces, you can floss and brush normally with Invisalign, helping to prevent tooth decay and related periodontal disease.

Easier cleanings

A clear advantage of the Invisalign system is that it doesn't use any metal bands, brackets, or wires. The metal parts of traditional braces may trap food and plaque. Since the removable Invisalign trays allow you to maintain good oral hygiene habits, you may also reduce chances of tooth decay, periodontal disease, and plaque buildup.

Improved chewing and speech

Incorrectly positioned teeth and jaws can lead to speech difficulties and even chewing issues and jaw pain. Invisalign can improve both of these problems by giving you a better aligned jaw and straighter teeth.

Maintain comfort and tooth structure

Misaligned teeth and jaws can lead to abnormal stress on tooth and bone structures, which can cause trauma to supporting bone and jaw joints. These same issues can also cause abnormal wear on your teeth, which can result in future periodontal issues.
